Just a bit about me…
Professionally I am a licensed North Carolina Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), past clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) (1994-2011), and the North Carolina Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (NCAMFT) (1996-2011). I have also been trained as a Triple-P, Positive Parenting, Level 4 Standard provider.
As a professional I strive to provide confidential marriage and family therapy to those seeking balance and structure during challenging seasons of life. In my practice I see individuals, couples, families, and groups, with my primary focus being: marriage, parenting, life coaching, relationships, chronic illness, retirement, aging, grief, loss, and stress management.
My academic training includes an AS in Dental Hygiene from Cuyahoga Community College, Cleveland, OH (1973), a BS in Child Development and Family Relations from East Carolina University, Greenville, NC (1987), and an MS in Family Studies/Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY (1991). I have seen clients as a marriage and family therapist in a multi-disciplinary group practice (1991-1996) and in private practice since 2005. From 1997-2009 I held various faculty positions in the Department of Child Development and Family Relations in the College of Human Ecology at East Carolina University.
Personally, I have been married for 37 years. My husband I have two wonderful daughters and a fine son-in-law, and we enjoy our delightful 4-year old and 21-month old granddaughters! Some of my interests include ballroom dancing, swimming, yoga, reading, and sharing time with family, good friends, and pets.
