1. Set Goals and Time Limits for technology use in the family
– Establish clear time limits EARLY in a child’s life
– DO NOT use technology as a babysitter
2. Integrate Non-Technology Activities in the family
– Plan and implement recreational family outings
– Have all family members participate in school-based extracurricular activities
– Establish and maintain tech-free family time
3. Increase Parental Involvement
– Know children’s online friends and user profiles
– Keep public and actively monitor ALL technology use
– DO NOT model addictive technology behavior
